Wilson, Jane

Jane Wilson (1822-1842) was the daughter of Mary Willis (1801-1873) and Alexander (1799-1867) Wilson, Presbyterian minister and president of the Caldwell Institute in Greensboro, NC. She was a student in the female academy operated by Professor and Mrs. James Phillips in Chapel Hill. Jane contracted cholera on a trip she was making with her father from Raleigh to Greensboro and died in Chapel Hill at the age of twenty. She is buried in the Old Chapel Hill Cemetery.
